Never Stop Learning!

Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away and I want to say THANK YOU to the teachers of ELC that are putting in extra time to learn! As teachers we cannot stop learning! You have put in the time during Morning Missions to learn and become better which is AWESOME! Our students deserve it!

Not all of you are pictured but you are appreciated! THANK YOU!!!

These teachers on the right came to Morning Missions while I was in D.C.! I was so excited to receive their selfies on Twitter that Tuesday & Thursday morning!

Congratulations to Brenda Poss (bottom left of the collage), 5th grade special education teacher who has mastered 2 of the 5 standards!!!

How will Morning Missions be run?

Morning Missions

BEGINS: Tuesday, October 18

Who:     All PreK-12 Teachers
When:   Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time:     7:25 am - 7:55 am
Where:  High School Media Center

What/Why: This is time for you to explore technology integration ideas while collaborating with your peers!

Every Tuesday & Thursday morning you attend Morning Missions, you will be able to choose a mission to work on. I have developed these missions by using the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards for teachers and the Iowa Core Technology Literacy essential concepts and skills.

You may choose to work on a mission alone or with a group, it is totally up to you! The format will be similar to our summer camp in that you will be able to learn, explore and create at your own pace.

The FIRST time you come to Morning Missions, you will work with me so that I can explain the process, etc.

There are a total of 5 standards with 5 missions each. Once you have completed the 5th mission of that standard, you will receive a badge for your mastery!

You will notice on the right hand side of this blog, there are 5 pages in addition to the home blog page. Each page will have the 5 missions (I am working on these and will post as I complete them) for that standard and the ISTE & Iowa Core connections.

Tokens: You will receive a token each time you attend Morning Missions. Once you have mastered the standard you will receive an additional 3 tokens to spend in the Midget Swag Store!

**Morning Missions is an optional professional development opportunity! Come to all or some! Up to you and how it works in your schedule!**
